The Super Turbo 800-Elite comes with an internal charge port. The external charge port is only necessary if you need to remove the battery pack from the scooter to be charged. For example: If you live on the third floor of an apartment you can simply remove the battery pack and take just it upstairs to be charged instead of carrying the whole scooter upstairs or if you purchase a second battery pack you can have one being charged while the other one is in use.
